After winning an award at the Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast in Los Angeles Jodie Foster publicly acknowledged her lesbian partner Cydney Bernard.
She was strictly private about her gay sexual orientation for many years.
Foster and film producer Cydney Bernard have been together over 15 years, however she has two sons and has never identified or discussed their father.
Jodie appeared in Inside Man in 2006, a thriller also starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen, and her latest film is The Brave One.
